Young Eagle Flights for Kids 8-17

In association with EAA nationwide, we make the thrill and benefits of flight available to young people. All kids 8-17 are invited to their first genuine flying experience, sitting in the front right seat and actually manipulating the controls under the guidance of the pilot: yoke (ailerons and rudder) and pedals (rudder).

During most Raiies, YE's will also fly our in-hangar simulators running EAA's Virtual Flight Academy. After the Rally your Young Eagle can download the same PC software for free from TakeFlight Interactive as well as free Sporty's Ground School courseware. Your young aviator can to learn to fly at any age.

EAA’s network of volunteer pilots and ground volunteers has flown more than 2 million kids over the last 25 years. The program helps to get young people interested, involved, and excited about aviation. For more information see http://www.YoungEagles.com. For general information see http://www.YoungEagles.com.

Our Young Eagle Rallies are regularly on the "Second Saturday" of the month. However, our Sunday (13 October) Rally has been moved one day earlier, Saturday 13 October. Our 2018 Rally schedule for the remainder of 2018 is:

Saturday, October 13

Sunday, November 11

Sunday, December 9

All events are weather and circumstances permitting, of course.

To participate in this adventure, please email our Young Eagles coordinator at YoungEagles1067@gmail.com. For more information about specific dates, go to 'Calendar' in the column on the left.

Eagle Flights for Young Adults 18 years and older

You don't have to be a kid to get your start in aviation. And why should the only the youngest have all the fun? Many young adults have yet to be introduced to the thrill of flying, and there is enormous demand for pilots and other skilled aeronautical professionals.  All are wonderful and highly rewarding professions for folks with all sorts of skills: flight, engineering, mechanical and electronic systems, operations, management, and more! EAA has begun to develop an Eagle Flights program for young adults interested in a life in aviation. Our chapter is looking into having an Eagle Flights program locally. If you're a pilot and would like to volunteer to fly young adults, or provide leadership in setting up this program, please contact our Young Eagle coordinator at the email address above.
